For my latest Crunchyroll feature (I know this post is two weeks late, blame forgetfulness and law school) I took a look at Tower of God’s use of atmosphere to hook the audience in its first episode. I was a little hesitant about the show at first, but the mood and atmosphere it set was enough to keep me hooked until the story really caught my attention. The big lesson here is that sometimes the way a work feels can be just as important as the actual content of the work, particularly in visual media like anime.
